Timetable change: fine-tuning and fulfilment of customer wishes

01.12.2025 | The timetable change on 14 December 2025 will not bring any major changes, but will optimise the timetable on various lines thanks to many small adjustments. The aims of the fine-tuning are more stable connections, optimised connections for commuters, attractive travel chains for tourists and customer requests that can be implemented.

In recent years, the timetable change has always brought major changes. This year, the focus is on fine-tuning. Individual connections and travel chains can be further optimised with small, sometimes very specific adjustments in the minute range. On typical commuter routes in particular, the timetable adjustments will ensure connections and improve punctuality where this can be influenced. For example, individual journeys on route 609 will be adjusted to improve connections in Oberägeri in the direction of Morgarten during peak times. We recommend that all travellers check the new timetable before setting off.

It is important for the ZVB to offer a public transport service that the population really needs. Thanks to the timetable consultation, in which ZVB customers actively participate, specific wishes can be taken into account. If they are operationally feasible and make sense for many passengers, they are approved and implemented together with the relevant cantonal authorities. Some examples from the regions:

  • Baar: Line 604 will be extended from Zug in the direction of Baar to Blickensdorf at 7.18 pm. This will provide a connection from the centre of Zug to the residential district of Blickensdorf directly after closing time.
  • Alosen: At commuter times, the connection in the direction of Zug and back in the evening is guaranteed. In addition, the departure time for schoolchildren travelling home has been adjusted to 3.17 pm.
  • Rates: Line 610 runs every hour on the instalments from Monday to Friday from 8.30 am. This fulfils the customer's wish for better access to this tourist region.
  • Küssnacht: Line 622 now takes the population from Küssnacht to Meggen at 5.59 am. This turns an empty journey into an early service. In addition, route 653 will now run to the Eichholtern stop in Küssnacht, which was also an explicit customer request.

Advent bus on the road

Climb aboard and be enchanted: In December, a Christmas-decorated Advent bus will be travelling on various ZVB lines. The interior has been lovingly decorated with Christmas decorations by ZVB employees. With this campaign, the ZVB would like to offer its passengers a sensual journey and atmospheric moments.
