Developments in the Ägeri Valley
A number of infrastructure and construction projects are planned for Oberägeri. The ‘triangle’ comprising the ‘bus depot at Ländli Park – new transport interchange – flats & care centre’ presents an opportunity for the residents of Oberägeri.
The ZVB owns a plot of land in the centre of Oberägeri on which, amongst other things, the outdated bus depot – including staff rooms – and the Oberägeri bus stop are situated. The bus depot is outdated, lacks sufficient space and cannot be further developed.
To ensure that the ZVB can continue to fulfil its remit in future and meet the growing demand for transport, it needs a modern and larger infrastructure in the Ägeri Valley. The ‘Ländli Park’ construction project by the Ländli Foundation, which envisages integrating the bus depot, would address the ZVB’s operational requirements.
The municipality is planning a new, accessible interchange on Poststrasse, for which the ZVB is providing land. A temporary bus stop at Oberägeri station will be required during the construction period.
Provided the new interchange is built, new developments on the ZVB site will be possible.
The ZVB wishes to redevelop the central plot in line with the wishes of the local community. It is offering the local authority a section of the site for the construction of the care centre. On the remaining land, it intends to build family flats itself. The ‘triangle’ comprising the ‘bus depot in Ländli Park – interchange – flats & care centre’ presents an opportunity for the people of Oberägeri.
Plans are being drawn up for a new bus depot
The Ländli Foundation is planning the Ländli Park project in collaboration with Zugerland Verkehrsbetriebe AG on part of its site in Oberägeri.
In Oberägeri, the Ländli Foundation is planning to build 108 affordable flats. The project also incorporates the future ZVB bus depot, which is currently located in the village centre near the ‘Oberägeri, Station’ bus stop. Relocating it to the outskirts of the village will free up valuable space for the further development of the village centre.
The architectural competition for the Ländli Park development project has been completed and the winning design was presented to the public on 5 April 2025. A decision on the development plan is expected by the end of 2026, after which the construction project will be finalised (building permit).
