Lateral entry as a bus driver: We will train you.

We currently have vacancies for apprenticeships starting on 1 June 2026, 1 August 2026 and 1 October 2026. You can join us with a workload of just 40%.

  • You understand Swiss German perfectly and can express yourself well in German .
  • Planned, irregular working hours are an advantage for you. A high degree of flexibility is important to us.

  • You are at least 21 years old.
  • You have been driving a car regularly for at least 2 years (Cat. B) or have been driving a lorry regularly for at least 3 months (Cat. C).
  • You are in good health.
  • You have at least a valid B residence permit.
  • Your good reputation is important to us - your current extracts from the Administrative Measures Register (ADMAS) and your criminal record extract (ZSR) are impeccable.

Info evening

If you fulfil our criteria, we will invite you and the person accompanying you to an information evening. On this evening, you will gain an insight into the job of a bus driver and get to know our company culture. You will also find out more about training to become a bus driver and important points such as duty rostering, working hours, our holiday model, our bus fleet and our benefits.

Suitability assessment

At the same time, we will invite you to our aptitude test: this includes a computer test to check safety-relevant skills such as your ability to concentrate or react, as well as a test drive in your car, during which you will be accompanied by one of our driving instructors.

The interview

If you have successfully completed the aptitude test, the next step is to invite you to a personal interview on site. Duration: approx. 1 ½ hours. A member of our Driving Services management team and a recruiter from HR will be present. At the end of the interview, we will let you know when you can expect our decision

Commitment

Have we found each other? Then we would be delighted if you would join us! We will inform you of our acceptance and the possible start date both verbally and in writing. We will also let you know when you can expect to receive your employment contract.

  • The lateral entry training programme for bus drivers usually lasts 3 ½ months.
  • Before the start of training, you will attend the theory course with us on 10 evenings from 6 to 8.30 p.m. (the dates will be announced at the information evening) to prepare for the theory test for category D. Your participation is important so that you can successfully pass the additional theory test before the start of training. D.   • During the first two months of your training, you will complete the practical driving lessons and take the practical test for Cat. D. In the third month, you will attend the company introduction (accompanied driving) and complete your training as a bus driver.
  • From the 4th month, you will be travelling alone as a bus driver with your passengers for the first time.
  • In the 1st year of employment, you will also complete the CZV test if you do not yet have the authorisation for Cat. D1 on your driving licence.

  • From the start of your apprenticeship, you will receive your full salary minus CHF 600 in the first and second month of employment.
  • The total cost of the training programme is around CHF 19,440. As your employer, we will cover half of this (CHF 9,720) and you will pay the other half yourself. The instalment agreement starts in the 4th month of employment (repayment of CHF 270 per month, duration: 36 months). In the case of part-time training, repayment starts in the 6th month of employment. This is regulated in the employment contract.
  • If you already hold a Cat. C and our training team has planned a shorter training period for you, the training costs will be CHF 13,680 in total and we as your employer will bear half of these costs (CHF 6,840). In the first month, we will deduct CHF 600 from your full salary. The monthly repayment by you is CHF 190 and starts in the 4th month of employment, duration: 36 months.

  • Duty planning: In the first few years, you will work in shifts (early, middle and late shift). On the 20th of the current month, you know how you are scheduled for the month after next. For example, you will know on 20 November how you are scheduled in January.
  • The holiday arrangements are based on a fair points system. We guarantee employees with school-age children two weeks' holiday during the school holidays.
  • You will be scheduled for a 42-hour week. With us, you have various opportunities to help shape your work-life balance.
