Diversions and alternative stops during the carnival in Zug
For many visitors, the Zug carnival is the best time of year. To help you get through the Guggenmusigen, Fasnächtler and Gäuggel from Schmutziger Donnerstag, 27 February 2025 to Güdeldienstag, 4 March 2025, we have listed the most important parades with the associated restrictions on the route network below.
Zug Chesslete
Thu, 12.2.2026 from 14:00 to 16:30 - Lines 601, 602, 603, 604, 605, 606, 607, 611, 612, 613, 614 diverted.
- Kolinplatz, Postplatz and Steinhof stops will be relocated to Poststrasse - Bundesplatz stop will not be served

Thu, 12.02.2026 from 14:00 to 15:30 - Lines 601, 627, 634 only run to the Oberägeri, Fischmatt stop (Oberägeri, station is not served) - Lines 609, 610 run normally (not affected)

Fri, 13.02.2026 from 12:02 until end of service - lines 606, 616, 636 and N4 diverted - Steinhausen, Oele stop will not be served - Steinhausen, Zentrum stop will be moved to Kirchmattstrasse

Shuttle bus runs between Bahnmatt and Lättich - Line 604 only runs to Büelplatz. Walchwil Carnival Parade
Tue, 17 - Sun, 15 Feb 2026 - Walchwil, Bahnhof, Oberdorf, Lauihof, Hörndlirein, Sternenmatt and Gruebe will not be served from 19:00 until the end of service at 21:00. A temporary bus stop is located at the Restaurant Engel. Exception: Parade from 13:30 to 16:00. (Please use the S2 or bus line 605 from the temporary Hörndli stop.) - Lines 601, 634 diverted towards Oberägeri: Zentrum stop moved forward - Towards Zug: Lohmatt, Buechli, Seefeld, Zentrum stops relocated to Alte Landstrasse. Lido, St. Adrian and Engel will not be served during the parade from 13:30 to 16:00. The temporary bus stop is located on Zugerstrasse.
