The Ennetsee region is growing, and the demand for mobility is increasing accordingly. In order to accommodate this growth and expand the public transport service, the ZVB needs additional bus parking spaces in this region.

The ZVB is planning to build a modern, bus-only depot at Riedstrasse 18 in Rotkreuz. The future depot will enable the expansion of electromobility and thus emission-free bus operations. It will also contain common rooms and cloakrooms for the drivers. Commercial space for rent will be realised on the upper floors.

Planning began in 2024 with a public tender for the selection of planners. The submission by the architecture firm Mozzatti Schlumpf AG from Baar with the transport planning office Viaplan AG from Sursee was the most convincing. The two offices were commissioned to plan the new depot in Rotkreuz.
