This section contains useful information to help you find your way around public transport better.

Disabled passengers

Travel for disabled passengers

Disabled passengers may take a carer and/or guide dog with them free of charge. The disabled passenger or the carer must have a valid ticket and be able to demonstrate appropriate ID.

Bus

Wheelchairs
Please use the entrances marked with a wheelchair symbol.

The majority of our buses are modern low-floor vehicles.

Passengers with restricted mobility
Please use the door near the driver. He can help you out and activate the doors manually.

Trains

The Zugerberg Bahn railway has a carriage which is specially designed for wheelchairs and people with restricted mobility. It can take you up the Zugerberg mountain without steps.

Boats

The scheduled boats of Zugersee Schifffahrt and Aegerisee Schifffahrt are disability-compliant and wheelchair-friendly. MS Zug also has a wheelchair lift. This allows wheelchair-bound passengers to enjoy the lake views from the 1st floor.

Travel for the visually impaired

Bus

Our staff will be happy to provide you with the route and timetable information you need. Our buses are also equipped with automatic stop announcements.

Travel for the hearing impaired

All buses are fitted with visual passenger information.

Pushchairs

Bus, train and boat

Bus

If you need more time to get on or off the bus, please press the blue pushchair button (where available) on the door. The staff can open the doors manually and hold them open. You do not require an additional ticket for a pushchair.

Trains

The Zugerberg Bahn railway has a carriage which is specially designed for families with pushchairs.

Boats

There is nothing standing in the way of a family excursion with a pushchair on the Zugersee Schifffahrt and Aegerisee Schifffahrt boats.

Bicycles/bike trailers

Bus and train

Bicycle and bike trailer tickets are available as single tickets, multi-way tickets, day tickets and day choice tickets. (see below prices)

Bike transport is free for children under six. Free access to the Junior / Grandchild card for children under 16 accompanied by a parent / grandparent.

SBB self-loading tickets and bicycle GA travel cards are not valid for the ZVB and Zugerberg Bahn mountain railway.

Groups
Groups with more than five bicycles should register one day in advance
(phone 041 728 58 00).

Transport/Liability
For reasons of space, we cannot guarantee that we can transport bicycles. If there is a shortage of space, the staff are responsible for deciding whether the bike can be taken. The Zugerberg Bahn mountain railway accepts no liability for damage caused to bicycles in transit.

Boats

A bike or bike trailer ticket for Lake Zug or Lake Aegeri costs CHF 5 and is valid all day. SBB self loading tickets and bike GA travel cards are not valid for ZVB, ZBB, SGZ and AeS.

Dogs and small animals

Bus, train and boat

The reduced price applies to dogs.

Exception: Dogs of 30 cm or less at the shoulders (withers), cats and other tame animals can be carried in bags, baskets or other suitable containers free of charge as hand luggage.

Passenger regulations

General

Valid in vehicles and on the premises of Zugerland Verkehrsbetriebe AG. Staff instructions must be followed.

Eating, drinking and smoking

With your support, we hope to ensure our vehicles are clean and pleasant:

  • Smoking, eating and drinking is prohibited on all vehicles.

Security and vandalism

Buses and bus stops are public areas but they are not lawless:

  • Walls, floors and other surfaces may not be written on, painted on, smeared, sprayed, glued or otherwise damaged.
  • Theft or damage of Zugerland Verkehrsbetriebe AG property will be prosecuted.

 

Rubbish/newspapers

With your support, we hope to ensure our vehicles are clean and tidy:

  • Rubbish should be disposed of in the bins provided.
  • Newspapers should be placed in the newspaper holders provided or disposed of outside the vehicle.

 

Consideration

Please ensure your conduct does not impede or offend anyone. For example:

  • Shoes do not belong on seat cushions.
  • Dogs must be kept under control.
  • Noise must be kept to an acceptable level.

 

Only if permitted

The following activities require official consent from ZVB:

  • Sale and offering of goods and services
  • Distribution of flyers and brochures
  • Petitions, campaigns and surveys
  • Live music/recordings played loudly

Taking pictures of employees or passengers in the busses of Zugerland Verkehrsbetriebe AG is only permitted with the consent of the employees or the passengers.

Infringements/prosecution

Infringements of passenger regulations and failure to follow instructions from staff can lead to compensation claims, exclusion from transport or prosecution (art. 22 BPG, art. 59 VPB, clause 100 rate 600). Any cleaning or repair costs are charged to the offender.
