ZVB - let us do the driving!
  
Each day, approximately 60,000 passengers are on the move with the ZVB, traveling to work and to shops or enjoying their free time. As a service company for public transport we are also part of an operating community made up of Zugerbergbahn (Zug mountain railway), Zugersee Schifffahrt (boat operator on the lake of Zug), Aegerisee Schifffahrt (boat operator on the lake of Aegeri) and Zugerland Reisen AG.
 
Legal form/terms of ownership
 
The ZVB is a joint-stock company. The administrative board consists of six members, three of whom are elected by the cantonal governing council, two by the local authorities and one by the general assembly.
 
The joint-stock capital amounts to CHF 9,600,000 divided into 19,200 bearer shares. The principal shareholder is the canton of Zug with 49.5% of the shares; the neighboring local authorities possess a proportion of 42.5% and the Swiss Confederation owns 5% of the shares. The remaining 3% of the shares are privately held.
